OFAI Case Studies - Freightliner
Long standing client Freightliner needed to increase the workspace in their Southampton Shared Service Centre.
Brief
After a consultation we were asked to provide plans and details as to how we could assist. We undertook a full measured survey and made recommendations on re-modelling the space.
Solution
All old furniture was removed and recycled as it was no longer fit for purpose and we recommended changing for a smaller footprint. Articulation monitor arms, desk top power modules and fully compliant mesh back task chairs were provided in order to make staff comfortable while working at their desk.
Three offices and an archive room were removed to fully open the office space. This allowed us to add breakout areas with soft seating and benching. We could also then install state of the art vending machines and a bean to cup coffee machine.

Luxury Vinyl Tile was used under the breakout area to provide a durable, quality finish. We also supplied and installed Polyfloor safety flooring in the kitchen.
Additionally, we upgrades all lighting to LED panels which not only made the office bright, but will also contribute to reductions in the clients energy bills.
Finishing
Overall desk positions went from 48 to 92 and the client gained more meeting and breakout space. The office now effectively utilities the space available while also creating a comfortable environment for staff.
